Pantry clean out- those little bugs ?

Who has ever found some type of bug in their pantry?

We did recently. It was in our black rice in a sealed glass jar, but somehow this little critter laid eggs and created the cascade effect to clean out the pantry.

Our pantry has 6 levels of storage and everything has a place, except the insects and cockroaches, they are not welcome.

I worked from the top shelf to the bottom shelf, systematically removing jars, containers and cleaning each shelf. I used a combination of three essential oils.

Peppermint, Rosemary and Eucalyptus. They smelt amazing as I was using them.

I washed the floor with the same essential oils and now its time to put the last few items in the pantry. ( I was waiting for the floor to dry first).

It does feel so good to have the pantry cleaned and items removed that are of no benefit or are no longer used.

Thank goodness I could rearrange my day.

What essential oils do you use to help prevent little nasties in your pantry Oh and .........

I have made a spray up to spray over the surfaces frequently.

Gotta love my oils that help me remove unwanted insects and keep my home toxic free at the same time.

After I cleaned out our kitchen pantry, I thought I would share how I keep my linen cupboard both pest free and smelling lovely.

Firstly, I cleared out and wiped every shelf with a combination of Lavender, Lemon and Cedarwood essential oils.

I dropped a drop of each essential oil onto every corner and used an old scarf to apply a good 10-15 drops.

I love adding a paper towel or a handkerchief to each shelf as well that is infused with these three essential oils.

Give it a try this weekend.

Leanne
